Welcome to the Homepage of the Artist Robert Kloss!
When Robert Kloss exhibited a still life with flowers in 1920 in an exhibition of the Austrian artist group Hagenbund the reaction of his contemporaries was dismissive and negative because his works were considered to be "hyper-modern". The mixture of cubistic elements, a singular perspective and bright colors was, outside of the Hagenbund context, very uncommon and the time not yet right. Today the paintings impress with their very early and radical modernness.
Paintings by Robert Kloss are rare and only turn up at the art market from time to time. Only few facts are known about the artist and his biography. Single paintings can be found in private collections and in the collection of the National Bank of Austria.
